 Peter R. Mandt, MD
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Mandt is a board certified, fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Knee and Shoulder. He has a special interest in Ligament Reconstruction and Cartilage Repair Surgery. Dr. Mandt is a native of the Seattle area and worked locally as a Ski Instructor and Ski Patrol in high school and college. Graduating with a BS (Summa Cum Laude) and an MD from the University of Washington, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
He completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. Following residency, he went on to fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery at UC San Diego, and with Dr. Richard Steadman of the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic. Dr. Mandt served as Medical Director and staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Virginia Mason Sports Medicine Center in Seattle from 1986 to 2004, when he left to join Northwest Orthopaedic Physicians. From 1989 to 2000 he was a team physician for the United States Ski Team.
Dr. Mandt is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine and has taught Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgical Techniques to both residents and fellow Orthopaedic Surgeons at the local and national levels. Residing on Mercer Island, Dr. Mandt has four children and enjoys skiing, golf and woodworking.
