Orthopaedic Surgery, Hip and Knee Reconstruction

Dr. Ratcliffe is a Board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialty focus in hip and knee reconstruction, as well as treating patients with shoulder and knee injuries.

He grew up in rural Indiana and did his undergraduate work at Duke University before returning to his home state to earn his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his orthopaedic training through the University of Washington and then did fellowship training locally at Harborview and in London, England in joint replacement.

After returning from England in 1983, he and Dr. Thayer started this practice with "an education, a bank loan, and a goal to help do anything we could to help patients". He is proud of the practice and his partners who offer in-depth expertise in all the fields of orthopaedics. For Dr. Ratcliffe, it's a privilege to treat patients and his approach reflects that.

Dr. Ratcliffe enjoys spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, scuba diving, and flying aerobatics.

Dr. Ratcliffe has received a nomination as one of "Seattle's Top Doctors" for 2011.
