Matthew J. Robon, MD, FAAOS
Dr. Robon did his undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from medical school at The Ohio State University. He completed his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital.
Earlier, in his years as a competitive All-American swimmer, Dr. Robon endured years of medical treatment for multiple orthopaedic injuries. These experiences shaped his practice philosophy today; good patient care involves making accurate and timely diagnoses, but equally important is treating patients with respect and compassion. By helping his patients understand their problem, this not only results in the treatment of the immediate problem, but hopefully, helps to avoid future injuries and pain.
Additionally, Dr. Robon is married and has a son. He and his wife enjoy exploring the great outdoors by hiking, golfing and trail running in the Cascades.
Achievements:
- Named by his colleagues as one of Seattle's Top Hand Surgeons by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine in August 2010; the only hand surgeon on the Eastside to receive this honor.
- Voted by his colleagues at Overlake Hospital Medical Center as Doctor of the Month in June 2009.
- Awarded the"Patient Choice Award" by Vitals.com, PatientChoice.org, Right Health, and Google. According to them, "While physicians generally receive positive feedback from their patients, only a select few receive rave reviews. Of those with high praise, only physicians with near perfect scores have been voted by their patients for this honor. In fact, of the nation's 720,000 active physicians, less than 6% were accorded this honor by their patients in 2010." Dr. Robon was also awarded this honor in 2011.
