Matthew J. Robon, MD
Dr. Robon did his undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from medical school at The Ohio State University. He completed his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital.
Earlier, in his years as a competitive All-American swimmer, Dr. Robon endured years of medical treatment for multiple orthopaedic injuries. These experiences shaped his practice philosophy today; good patient care involves making accurate and timely diagnoses, but equally important is treating patients with respect and compassion. By helping his patients understand their problem, this not only results in the treatment of the immediate problem, but hopefully, helps to avoid future injuries and pain.
Additionally, Dr. Robon is married and has three sons. He and his wife enjoy exploring the great outdoors by skiing, hiking, golfing and trail running in the Cascades.
Dr. Robon is Board-certified in Hand and Orthopedic Surgery. He treats patients with all types of orthopaedic fractures in addition to his specialty focus in hand and upper extremity surgery.
Named by his colleagues as one of Seattle's Top Hand Surgeons by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine in August 2010; the only hand surgeon on the Eastside to receive this honor. Dr. Robon has also been awarded this honor in 2012, 2014, and 2015.
Voted by his colleagues at Overlake Hospital Medical Center as Doctor of the Month in June 2009.
Awarded the Patient's Choice Award by Vitals.com, PatientChoice.org, Right Health, and Google. According to them, "While physicians generally receive positive feedback from their patients, only a select few receive rave reviews. Of those with high praise, only physicians with near perfect scores have been voted by their patients for this honor. In fact, of the nation's 720,000 active physicians, less than 6% were accorded this honor by their patients in 2010." Dr. Robon was also awarded this honor in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. He has also received the Compassionate Doctor Award from 2011 to 2015. This award recognizes doctors with the highest score in bedside manner. With both of these awards, Dr. Robon was also awarded as a 5 year honoree for ratings which have reflected excellent service and care and the highest scores in bedside manner for 5 consecutive years (Patient's Choice 5th Anniversary and Compassionate Doctor 5th Year Award). Only a distinct few doctors in the US receive these honors.
Dr. Robon has also received the following awards: Castle Connolly's Top Doctors (2012-2013), Top 10 Doctor in the State of WA (2014), Top 10 Doctor in the Seattle Metro Area (2014), Top 10 Doctor in the City of Bellevue (2014), and On Time Doctor Award (2014).
